Design Story:
This creation has been inspired by a mythological creature of Mahabharata “ Navagunjara”. Once when Arjuna was in penance he witnessed a creature that was beautiful yet disturbing. He lifted his bow to shoot the creature when he heard a voice from the clouds “What cannot exist in the imagination of the human, lies within the imagination of the universe. Put your bow down and surrender to it”.
Arjuna was shocked to hear this. He saw that the creature’s hand was holding a lotus flower, which is a symbol of Lord Vishnu. He bowed down to the beast and surrendered himself to its grace.
Navagunjara had the head of a rooster and the neck of a peacock. It used to stand on 3 legs of an elephant, a tiger, and a horse. The 4th limb was a human hand, holding a lotus flower. It had the back of a bull, the waist of a lion, and the tail of a snake
