Design Story:

This mesmerizing creation is inspired by the ancient Indian storytelling tradition called the Panchatantra which used to be recited and narrated in Indian households as the "Tales of Panchatantra,". Its purpose was to convey the wisdom of sages to new generations. Crafted with a blend of knowledge, lessons from ancient kings, animal dialogues and quarrels, and everyday incidents of commoners, the Panchatantra offers wisdom on war, gain, loss, peace, and actions. A dying form of story narration, the panchatantra shirt holds the significance of the wisdom from the sages that has been preserved for ages in our Indian culture and heritage.

Kalamkari

Kalamkari has deep roots in temple culture. Traditionally used to create narrative panels depicting scenes from the Ramayana, Mahabharata, and Puranas. It was a devotional art form, with craftsmen (called chitrakattis) serving as visual storytellers in temples.

Andhra Pradesh

The Srikalahasti style is entirely hand-drawn using a bamboo or date-palm pen dipped in fermented jaggery and iron solution, then elaborated with natural dyes derived from plants like indigo, pomegranate rind, and myrobalan. The Machilipatnam style uses carved wooden blocks for printing on fabric pre-treated with myrobalan and cow milk. Both styles require multiple rounds of dyeing, washing, and sun-drying. a single piece can take weeks to complete.
